STUDIO POLICIES
Thank you for choosing Gold Country Art Spot! From enrollment to art-show day, our goal is to create a welcoming and positive art experience for all students.
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
Students must be registered through our website prior to class. Payments may be made via our online registration page to reserve your child’s space. Because of limited capacity in our studio, credit is not given for missed classes and refunds are not issued if a student stops attending the session. For multi-session classes, we will make every effort to provide one make-up class per session for students to catch up. The date and time of the make-up day will be provided as needed. Absences due to extenuating circumstances will be handled on a case by case basis. Make up classes are not available for single day workshops or “camp” sessions.
ATTENDANCE:
Consistent class attendance is important for all educational activities. Please arrive promptly for class. Late arrivals not only disrupt other students, but may also cause your child to be unable to complete their art projects! All students must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian. The teacher must be notified of any other arrangements for student pickup. When picking up students, please arrive on-time and wait for students outside of the studio to reduce distractions during the end of class.
BEHAIVOR GUIDELINES:
Our goal is to provide a peaceful and creative learning environment. Offensive language and/or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. We expect all artists at Gold Country Art Spot to be respectful, cooperative and excited to learn! Chewing gum, food, drinks (except water) and the use of electronics are not permitted in the studio.
Art can be very emotional for some children - oftentimes artists (including children) don’t like their work, and thats ok! We strive to help children work through challenges and see the progress while enjoying the process of art itself.
All of our classes have a suggested age range listed in the class description and most classes are drop-off and pick-up. While some children are ready for art instruction earlier than others, children 5 and younger must have a grown-up helper stay to assist them in the studio due to the presence of hazards such as scissors and hot glue. For specific questions regarding age appropriateness of a specific class, please contact the studio.
PAINT & STAINS:
We have aprons available in the studio for all students, but we use a variety of materials including acrylic paints and other messy mediums. While these supplies are beautiful, they may stain clothes. Please dress your child appropriately as messes can (and will) happen!
WAIVER:
Gold Country Art Spot places safety as our top priority. Please ensure your child is able to follow safety rules and participate safely in our art program.
By enrolling in any class, workshop, summer camp, or paint night, parent agrees to:
• Give consent to their child's participation in the activities offered by Gold Country Art Spot. Participation in art class includes risk of injuries, including but not limited to, those caused by hand tools, scissors, sewing needles, carving tools, hot glue, slipping, tripping or falling. Parent assumes all risks for their child and agrees to waive, absolve, indemnify, hold harmless, and forever release Gold Country Art Spot and teachers, from any-and-all liability, damages, legal actions, losses or expenses that may arise during enrollment in art classes.
• Allow Gold Country Art Spot to utilize photographs and/or videos of students taken during class time to be used on our website, social media, or other marketing materials. Student names will never be used.
LOCATION & PARKING:
Gold Country Art Spot is located at 1423 Hawver Road in San Andreas, CA. The studio is in a detached building next to our home. Please park along the edge of the circular driveway to allow other cars to pass as you walk your child into the studio.
